Hi Jerry, Give me a call on my cell. The # is 954 801-0193. I'm located in Ft. Laud, Fla. We can talk about what woods you might like, the sizes, etc. I wonder if you know any plane model builders. I have several Balsa 2 X 4's as well.…

The Deck, She be Planked!

I have FINALLY finished planking the deck. See the pictures in the album here.

I am reasonably happy with the results. It was much harder than I thought (my last - and only to date - model was a solid hull) but I learned a lot. I think the next POB model I build I'll try to use a false deck first.

Bluenose Update

Started on the aft deck planking and am making some progress. New pictures uploaded to my Bluenose album. I think I'm getting the hang of it, but I now realize I should have spent more time truing the bulkheads for the decks (I focused the truing for the hull). Making Progress (Slowly)

Happy New Year! A bit belatedly, I admit...

Well, the foredeck is finally decked! It is taking me forever to do this since I just can't find the time. But as a New Year's resolution I intend to get at least a couple of hours a week in. Tonight I started the aft deck and given how the deck planks need to taper, I'll probably get done with this by December!

How are everyone else's projects progressing?

The Intrepid is Back!

The Intrepid is back in her slip in New York City and the meseum reopens today after a 2 year hiatus for repairs. I have been meaning to go to it for the past 10 years or so, and I aim to do that this winter with the kids.

Their website is here with more information http://www.intrepidmuseum.org

Back to work on the model

I've spent so much time recently lurking this site and looking at everyone's work, I've negleted my own. But, the in-laws are here this weekend and playing with the kids, so I found some time to sneak into my lair and work on the model. Posted new pictures here.
